Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali to Nyungwe – Canopy Walk Adventure

Your guide picks you from Kigali hotel at 8:00am for a drive to Nyungwe Forest.
You travel south for 5–6 hours with a stopover in Butare town for early lunch.
Arrive at Uwinka Visitor Center in time for the 3:00pm canopy walk experience.
Start the trek on the Igishigishigi trail led by park rangers.
Walk through the forest, see monkeys, birds, and many plant species along the trail.
Reach the 50-meter-high canopy bridge suspended above the forest floor.
Feel the thrill of walking above the treetops with views of the lush rainforest.
Return to the lodge for dinner and rest after the 2-hour canopy walk experience.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking – Return to Kigali via Lake Kivu

Wake up at 4:30am and have breakfast before heading to the park headquarters.
Join the 5:00am chimpanzee trekking briefing at Cyamudongo ranger post.
Drive to the forest and begin tracking chimpanzees with guides.
Walk through thick vegetation following the sounds and calls of the chimps.
Spend one hour watching the chimps as they swing, feed, and call out loudly.
After tracking, drive back to Kigali via Kibuye with a lunch stop by Lake Kivu.
